ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Ethel is a Calgary-based multidisciplinary artist specializing in painting and illustration. A University of Calgary BFA Honours graduate, she has earned the 2010 Art-a-thon Merit Award from Cardel Homes and exhibited at venues including cSPACE, the Nickle Galleries, and Contemporary Gallery.

Her work explores Asian-Canadian identity, community, and belonging, using nature-inspired, pop culture, and animation motifs to create conceptual pieces rich in symbolism and allegory.
